Rick and I are teaching a Conceal carry class called the “NRA Basic First step”  February11,2012 at 9:00 AM; if you would like to attend this class please call no later than Thursday 2/09/12 to reserve your space; 719-683-2117; this is a 4 to 6 hour class; The majority of the class will be indoors, however some will be outside practicing new  learned skills.

I’m furious about Fast & Furious and if you’re not, Why Not?

After reading the article in the monthly NRA magazine “American’s 1st Freedom” the January 12 edition, I pondered many things;

Was I the only one out raged at the crimes committed? I have not seen much news about it in the media. In fact it was dropped like a stinky piece of excrement.

The one question you have to ask is why would ATF personal want to put firearms in the hands of criminals that could knowingly be used against Americans civilians or State law enforcement?

According to the article written by Chris W Cox NRA-ILA Executive Director ATF agents purposely set the stage for background checks of known criminals to be approved and allowed to purchase the firearms.

What purpose would ATF want criminals to have these firearms knowing they would wreck havoc on all who came in contact with them, pity the poor sole that innocently tried to stop them or got in the way; I can envision the present administration sitting in its lofty tower waiting for the most unspeakable thugs to get things heated up with all the new weapons they purchased legally, and when the border states were in turmoil and state law enforcement could not contain the crime that had descended upon their beloved states. I’m quite sure the present administration would not want the world to know their little secret and involvement so with the snap of their fingers and computer all would be quietly erased, all documents of “Fast and Ferrous” would be shredded and burned, the ATF would appear as always the strong defenders of the law, waiting for the present administration to force stricter gun control or remove all gun rights altogether.

I wonder was Arizona targeted for “Fast and Ferrous” because Arizona stood up to the present administration demonstrating states rights on other issues?

I guess that is how I see it, however we would like to know your thoughts, perhaps I missed some important fact or perhaps you have additional information. We would like to hear from you.

If you have not read this article in the America’s 1^st Freedom January 20, 2012 issue. This is a must read to stay vigilant and an informed American Citizen.

We hope everyone had a nice Christmas and a fantastic start to their new year. The gun shows have started up again, we did the Tanner Pueblo show, January 7&8, Saturday was busy but with the football game it was pretty slow Sunday.

This weekend January 14 & 15 we will be at the Sertoma show in Colorado Springs; on Academy and Palmer Park, if you are coming to the show stop by and say howdy, we always like to visit.

If you’re out and about and can’t make it to the gun shows stop on by the store and have a cup of coffee.

Ithaca model 37 Military Shotguns

The Ithaca model 37 is the rarest of all military Trench shotguns, its commercial blue finish is highly polished, the “RLB” and ordnance bomb is stamped on the left side of receiver, with “P” stamped on barrel, and the stocks were not proofed.

There were three types, one as pictured above had the 30” barrel no hand guard or bayonet attachment, the second style looked exactly like the one pictured above except it had a 20” barrel, and the third style had the hand guard and bayonet attachment with a 20” barrel. Only 1,420 Trench guns were ordered in 1941 the serial number range 49,000-62,000.

This particular Trench shotgun is the Long Barrel 30”, it has a small hair line scratch on stock otherwise it is in great shape for its age, wood is dark rich brown, the caliber is 12gauge.

The Model 37 Military Marked Trench Gen (WWII) was built in three different configurations; The one pictured here is the 30” barrel, they also produced a  20” barrel, and 20” barrel with hand guard and bayonet lug.

This rifle is a rarity and a valuable assist to be treasured in any collection

Not that long ago important knowledge was passed from the old generations to the new, food preparations, hunting, fishing, values, trust, honor and your name is only as good as your word is a favorite of mine.

Knowledge in reloading was one of the treasures that was passed down and is all but lost to this generation, and I dare state the next generation will not even know the term.

Several years ago everyone was hard pressed looking for ammo, varying calibers were almost nonexistent. Many people realized that without ammo their firearm was only a good club. Quickly the ammo disappeared from retailer’s shelves and most retailers had a hard time replenishing the small supply of ammo, if they could order it at all from their distributor it was limited and the cost kept escalating.

There were two types of people who had ammo at this time, those who were well supplied and those who reproduced and reloaded their own ammo. Although most avid shooters were alarmed and shocked by the shortage of ammo, many without ammo, vowed they would not be deceived again. However, as with all things time passes, the ammo returned and all is well with the world.

I think, why not have it both ways, knowledge and experience to reload as well as a good supply.

Rick and I are NRA instructors for reloading, we also have reloading benches set up for people who want to reload but for whatever reason can’t do it at their residence. Many people learn how to reload on their own, or are blessed to have a tutor. It makes sense people want to become knowledgeable, self reliant, prepared for any problem or emergency.  We have many books on reloading and offer classes as well. If you get stumped or have a question, bring it to us and we will work on it together.

We are completely stocked with all are regular reloading supplies, all powders, primers, and dies, common brass and bullets. However, we realize we might not have everything and many people need special items so if there is something that you need and we don’t have it let us know and we will order it. Many people realized that the firearm is a tool and works best with projectiles, and although the firearm is a good tool it makes a poor self defense weapon as a club.

The only people who had ammo were the knowledgeable ones that knew how to reload; many people learn on their own or were blessed to have a tutor. It makes sense people want to become knowledgeable, to be prepared for any problem or emergency. A lack of ammo in America could happen again.
